PRESERVATION THROUGH PERFORMANCE

The Blues is more than music — it is a living history, a shared language, and the foundation of modern American music. At BluesForever.org, our purpose is simple: keep the Blues alive by performing it, teaching it, celebrating it, and passing it forward.

Born from the spirit and community created around the National Blues Museum jams in St. Louis, BluesForever.org continues that musical energy through live performances, mentoring, collaboration, and education. We believe the best way to preserve the Blues is not just by placing it behind glass, but by keeping it on stages, in jam sessions, and in the hands of musicians young and old.

Our mission is “Preservation Through Performance” — honoring the legends who created this music while inspiring future generations to discover and carry it forward.

From seasoned players to new listeners, BluesForever.org welcomes everyone who believes the Blues still matters. Through community events, live music, mentorship, and storytelling, we are dedicated to keeping the flame burning brightly for years to come.

As Willie Dixon famously said: “The Blues are the roots, and the other musics are the fruits.”

And at BluesForever.org, the roots run deep.

Enjoy our NBM Alumni performance at The Key STL

BluesForever.org brought the NBM Alumni Jam to The Key STL Burger Bar & Boogie on June 6th from 6:30-10pm!

The energy behind this NBM Alumni Jam came from all the musicians who played the Legends Room during the 2016-2026 decade of the National Blues Museum! Having that international cultural attraction here in St. Louis – a live music City going back to the Ragtime & early Blues era – naturally meant that many St. Louis musicians would join the ranks of the NBM Alumni.

The National Blues Museum sudden closing left behind a legacy known as the NBM Alumni Jammers, and like the Mississippi river, the NBM Alumni list runs long and deep. If you were there on June 6th at The Key STL to witness the magic that is known as the NBM Alumni Jam, you know the music endures!

June 6th featured: Teec’a Easby • Joe Metzka • Silky Sol • Wendy Gordon • Cole Allen • Chris Shepherd • Hy-C • Uvee Hayes • Skeet Rodgers • Matt Lesch • Jake Curtis • Dave Smith • Jason Cooper • John Logan • Andy Lewis • Nick Ayala • Ron Roskowske • Joe Pastor • Richard James Marlen • Eugene Johnson • Frank Dunbar • Peter Danza • Bill Edwards • Marty Spikener • Brad Hampton • Rodrigo Reis • Chuck Loeb • Jim McClaren • Harrison Jackson (Big George Brock, Jr) • Gary Underwood • Mello George, and more TBD.
